Amazing. That twixtor video is IMPRESSIVE. Definitely looks like it was shot at 2000fps. But he found a great workaround for Twixtor’s often crazy results! I love it.
Very interesting talk. It’s good to know that you need to keep the background as simple as possible to get a better outcome with Twixtor. He’s got a bright future that guy. A bright, Swedish future…
I love Dan’s idea about this becoming a series in your blog. Finding these filmmakers can be a really entertaining process, with a great informational conversation at the end of it.
I’m not quite sure it got this. He took a still frame, tracked the movement of the original shots and masked it so there is as little movement around the guy as possible?
Very cool indeed. My first encounter with Twixtor was when I shot “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” with Zach Galifianakis. There were some scenes with his tractor and smoke, and even though I can live with the twixtored slomo that I was able to cook up, I never loved the way that they rendered. I assumed it was because I was new to twixtor and because smoke has no edges to work with. But your smoke looks much better than mine. It has a fluid, watery quality.
